Commotion, Emotion or Promotion? A Tale of Today

No action, no motion, no dialogue, no gesture, no jingle, no twinkle. All quiet! Glittering sky gloomed with pitch-black clouds. Pupils lost life and forgot to stare. Leafs stiffened and forgot to wave with windy blow. Blue whales got stuck in frozen sea. Humors lost life to maneuver lips and move the heart. What's wrong? Too dissatisfied with past or possibilities? Too much moved with something to be dumbfounded? Or quiet on bow to toss the foe kept all on toe?

Nothing is known. Grandeur of recent celebration failed to adorn sensation. Are all on Board and taking motion to face resurrection? What a Horror! Oh, no!

Let's SMILE.

First Ever Printed Publication

For the first time, something printed from press was published for 8 BMA লম্বা কোর্স, on the the 29th commission day, as you see above. Certainly, it is a great initiative of Masud. He really deserves thanks. As I discussed and followed the group mails, Masud wanted to publish a kind of brochure, but the end result was a kind of handout. Yet, it is a success. Reasons are obvious. Most of the mates failed to spare time to even furnish few personal details as were asked for by Masud for the purpose of the brochure.

However, I believe, it is not a bad start. May be, next time a full size magazine or journal will be published for the course.

POEM FOR THE 8TH

                           EIGHT-TWENTY NINE

Ho ho, we are stepping to Twenty Nine

Looks pretty good and sounds fine,

That day we shouted Salam sir, Salam sir

No matter to bricks, trees and seniors near or far…

These days, Tareq teaches gunnery to his son

Is it not amazing and full of bloody fun,

Saker often dangles around garrison

That is veracity and true simple equation……..

Over the years, our roots are deeply drenched

In sister services and overseas, we widely stretched,

Warm salute to our celestial heavenly stars

You are deep in our heart, and not at all far….

May, Almighty bless the course

From demon of deadly force,

Ho   ho   E i g h t   L o n g   C o u r s e….

Remain blossom like petals of white rose,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

8th bma long course – an epic journey

Life is a journey; travel it well. Guess this was augmented by we all, that vision of life from an early age.

1980 – 1981 the youth finishing their HSC exam; some waiting to appear were completely lost with the career prospect of the country.

One fine morning an advertisement appears in all the news paper and many found the ad like some kind of serendipity. It was the advertisement to join the most auspicious of profession in the context of our country in the early eighties,

The process of joining and crossing all the hurdles and obstacles to pass and ultimately joining the coveted Bangladesh military academy on the

7th day of the month of August 1981…………….the journey starts there…….what a journey it had been. A journey of life…..a journey many can only see in their dream many can only see from the fringes but will never be able to feel the buzz of the inner feeling of the member of 8th long course.

The joining of the BMA and the precarious few days and the wondering eyes and seek solaces in unspoken words and an wave of affection and feeling for each other in silence slowly and gradually bonded into a cemented concrete of camaraderie, friendship of lifetime and above all the spirit de corps……….words cannot express these friendship of mountainous magnitude, the feelings for each other, the inner jealousy and the love hate relation have made this group of youths to mature members of the society.

An epic tour to the pinnacles of friendship. Not a lot of people have good friends when we have a host of friends who have the same interest, hobbies and aspiration of life.

Despite all the confusions and eroding social fabric and changing social order and changing courses of the rivers have never dampened the resolve of our unity; the perseverance to achieve the quest of becoming, remaining a good human being was the most glorious achievement 8th bma long course.

A course that have excelled themselves in all spheres of life. Irrespective of military or civil profession.  The untiring bondage and the sheer peer positive peer pressure navigated all of them into the path of sagacity, prudent and frugal way of life.

The friendship has given the impetus and guidance to excel.

We are all reaching/nearing/crossing half a century of our age and these last 28 years of friendship in each other company is joy to have, an association to cherish and reminiscences of the last 28 years will remain in the hearts and minds of all 8th long course family.

The family has grown into a 8th long course society and the bondage must to fade away with the passage of time.

The profession we choose and what we opted for was by far the most premium one in the whole of the country and we have not only excelled in upholding the profession at the same time over a period of last 28 years we have passionately work in whole spectrum of nation building work in peace and in crisis and in natural calamities.

The passion and professional acumen have complimented each other and the synergy of these two attributes has proven that the officers of 8th long course are an asset of the country.

We are a rare breed of people who single handedly raised the yard scale of professional excellence

8th long course is a joy to have, a group of gentlemen who knows how to enjoy life and attain the finest things for a finer life.

We stand alone in the crowd with our head held very high in the high alter of excellence.

29th Commission Day Celebrated

At Home:

Masud was the nodal point for making the event a success. Actually, all the credit goes to Masud and if one like to please him as R1 does then he will need to give at least 1000 thanks to Masud. Nasim, Ahsan, Ridwan and Golam took active part in conducting different events like Tambula and such. Zahir traveled all the way from Ctg and presented memento to each participants. Delwar made financial contribution to buy presents for all Bhabees and Kids. Ahsan arranged sponsor to add butter to the event and declared

"স্বর্ণের নাকের দুল"

for 5 lucky Bhabees in addition to other gifts. Ghani (jr) was following the event from abroad, dedicated a poem for the event and attended with family.

Overall it was a splendid show of above 140 participants including Shaheed families with sumptuous Kacchi – Doi dinner along with celebration cake and coffee.

Besides above, Masud published a handout covering a brief about different past events and declared about a new blog site for the course http://diary8lc.blogspot.com/

Aziz tried to celebrate the event in Comilla with Gani.

At Abroad:

At Canada, Mohiuddin , Amin and Momin celebrated the event. In UK, Imran invited Shams with family for a lunch to mark the event but due to busy schedule of Shams he couldn't succeed in his effort.
